Hotel Tikkurila – the Helsinki metropolitan area-based hotel implemented Bitwards mobile access solution for offering easy access and fast registration for their customers by allowing them to use their mobile phones to directly access their rooms.

Hotel Tikkurila was looking for an easy and cost-efficient digital key alternative to their existing mechanical keys that customers use to access the guest rooms. The hotel wanted a solution that allows them to automate the check-in and room access, even when the reception is unmanned. This offers more convenience for their customers and greater flexibility for the hotel management – especially during the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions.

Now as customers make reservations, they receive the room keys straight to their smartphones allowing them to access their rooms without having to register at the reception.

Cost-efficient and Secure

The mobile access is made possible with Exma Duo smart lock adapters that communicate with the customers’ phones via Bluetooth. The smart locks do not require any modifications to the existing lock cases, handles or to the door itself. Physical keys can still be used normally in parallel for management purposes.

The smart locks do not need a connection to the internet and are battery-powered offering a fast and easy installation process. The users can access their rooms even if their phone is out of network coverage. Now international customers with limited roaming options, have a 100% reliable and easy access to their rooms.
