Significant European lock manufacturers join the Bitwards platform

Bitwards’ open access control platform is expanding its reach by partnering with lock manufacturers Dormakaba, XPR Group and Südmetall.

Bitwards is a Finnish technology company whose platform enables secure access control in the cloud, regardless of the lock manufacturer. User access is handled through user-friendly and reliable mobile access applications.

Dormakaba has launched an intelligent MTL lock body that combines a traditional mechanical lock body, security locking and Bitwards’ smart mobile access technology. The lock body is compatible with all mechanical Nordic doors and can be operated conventionally with a key or with a Bitwards mobile key.

XPR Group is a significant European manufacturer of security technology products, including readers, controllers and software. XPR is introducing a new reader product line that uses Bitwards’ mobile identification technology.

The notable German lock manufacturer Südmetall has launched a smart lock body suitable for all central and southern European doors. Like Dormakaba’s lock it operates both by mobile and by key, with the added feature of unlocking with an RFID card.

All of these products operate through Bitwards’ cloud-based access control system, providing mobile access to users worldwide.

Lock manufacturers have also embraced the Bitwards service and started offering it alongside their products. Previously the Swedish company Flexlock acted as a reseller for Bitwards and sold the concept; Südmetall and XPR now offer the Bitwards service to their customers as well.
